The goal of the initiative aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Russian-speaking Jewish girls ages 9-11 and 11-17 years old.
Ilona’s Room is designed to promote healthy development for young girls by offering prevention and educational programs which weave in Jewish values and traditions.
The initiative will enhance participants’ knowledge on topics of healthy physical and emotional development to positively impact young girls’ self-esteem and body image while striving to prevent future eating disorders. Ilona’s Room empowers young girls, provides peer support networks and systems, positive role models through mentorship, and parental education while altering the landscape of the Russian-speaking Jewish community.
