Women's Center at the Marks JCH Fundraiser for Marks JCH

Dear Friends,

We believe women are powerful catalysts for change. We also believe that when women succeed, our community is stronger. Our Board of Directors will generously match EACH NEW DONATION of the first $10,000, doubling your impact. And so today, we’re spotlighting important ways the Marks JCH impacts women’s lives through its Women for Women Initiative.

With the capital expansion, we are building a new center for women and girls with a gift from UJA-Federation. Russian Jewish immigrant women will get help learning English and securing jobs. The center will also offer guidance and support to adolescent girls who have the potential to lift their families and even communities out of poverty. We are excited to lead the way with a designated space for women in our neighborhood!

We ask you to be part of the change, and lead the way with us by giving:

• A GIFT OF $36 WILL RAISE $72 FOR a Welcome Home New Mom Basket. By welcoming new mothers into our community and supporting them right after birth, the Marks JCH Women’s Center will help reduce isolation and is providing a stepping stone in getting women care and recovery they need after childbirth.

• A GIFT OF $108 WILL RAISE $216 FOR one night at a safe place for a battered woman. Marks JCH’s Family Violence Prevention program serves survivors of domestic violence/abuse and their families, regardless of their age, income level, and immigration status. Having a safe place to turn to can be a difference between life and death for women who are abused.

• A GIFT OF $360 WILL RAISE $720 FOR a six month worth of enrichment classes such as Dance, Swimming or Academic Tutoring. Being a single parent is hard. It is even harder when you are poor or near poor. Women head most single parent households in our community and enrichment classes for their children are out of reach in most cases.

• A GIFT OF $1,000 WILL RAISE $2,000 FOR Ilona’s Room: Growing Healthy Girls. A partnership with the Ilona Memory Fund, additional funding will help us expand this critical program to an older cohort of 12 – 17 year old girls by offering eating disorder prevention and educational programs which weave in Jewish values and traditions.

Your support is essential for helping women and their families from the Marks JCH community reach their full potential. We hope you will help us meet our goal of raising $10,000 in the month of June by giving and spreading the word with your friends, family and neighbors.

We thank our committed Board Members and community for their support in this initiative.
